Explain and generate standard five-field Unix cron schedules, then preview their next five runs.
Parse a cron expression
Generate a common schedule
Standard five-field cron syntax
The fields are minute, hour, day of month, month and day of week. This tool supports wildcards, lists, ranges and step values within those five fields. It does not use Quartz seconds or year fields.
Cron and timezones
A cron expression does not define its timezone. The operating system, container, scheduler or explicit CRON_TZ configuration controls execution. The preview timezone affects only the dates shown here.
Frequently asked questions
Which cron syntax does this tool use?
It uses standard five-field Unix cron: minute, hour, day of month, month and day of week.
Does a cron expression include a timezone?
No. The scheduler or operating-system configuration determines the timezone. The next-run preview uses the timezone selected here.
How are day-of-month and day-of-week combined?
Traditional cron runs when either restricted field matches. Implementations can differ, so confirm behavior in your scheduler.
